"I am the Lord, I change not."

“I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” Malachi 3:6

No subject of contemplation will tend more to humble the mind, than thoughts of God. But while the subject humbles the mind it also expands it.There is something exceedingly improving to the mind in a contemplation of the Divinity. I believe the highest science, the loftiest speculation, the mightiest philosophy, which can ever engage the attention of a child of God, is the name, the nature, the person, the work, the doings and the existence of the great God whom he calls his Father. Other subjects we can compass and grapple with; in them we feel a kind of self-content, and go our way with the thought, “Behold I am wise.” But when we come to this master-science, we turn away with the solemn exclamation, “I am but of yesterday, and know nothing.”

One Stable Rock

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” Hebrews 13:8

How many and how grievous have been the changes of last year? Change is part and parcel of everything in a fallen creation (Genesis 3:16-19). The Lord Jesus Christ is not part of creation, not even the very first part, but is Lord over all creation and not subject to any change. In him God’s children can look forward to glorious liberty from creation’s present bondage to decay (Romans 8:21-23 It is well that there is one stable rock amidst the changing billows of this sea of life. It is well that there is one person who is the same

The Faithfulness Of God

“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me: your love, O Lord, endures for ever - do not abondon the works of your hands.” Psalm 138:8

Do you open up every area of your life to the One who has promised never to forsake his people? Are there any aspects of your relationship with him which are not all that they should be (Malachi 1:6)? Cry out to God, that he would not forsake you in your business, in your family; that he would not forsake you either upon your bed by night or in your business by day. And may God grant, when you and I shall come to the end of this year, we may have a good tale to tell concerning the faithfulness of God in having answered our prayers, and having fulfilled his promise.

Blessed New Year

I wish, my brothers and sisters, that during this year you may live nearer to Christ than you have ever done before. The New Year may not always be as “Happy” as we would wish, but the Christian is blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3) and can look forward to a “Blessed New Year” throughout the problems that may come . And as for some of you who are not saved, and do not know the Redeemer, I would urge you that this very day you would come to Christ.

The Stream Of Life

“Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin: pour out you heart like water in the presence of the Lord.” Lamentations 2:19

Dear friends, 2012 is almost gone. You will soon enter another year. It will also be gone in a few seconds.Do you know where the stream of life is hastening some of you?
The march of time is a terrible enemy to all who persist in unbelief, but the Christian sees things differently—“now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand” (Romans 13:11-12).

I wish you all a happy New Year

Great Comfort To God's People

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderfull, I know that full well.” Psalm 139: 14

We have come now to the end of another year. Are you glad that God sees you through and through every moment of your life? This should bring terror to the unbeliever (Hebrews 4:13) but great comfort to God’s people in the hour of distress (Genesis 16:13; Exodus 2:25). “The eyes of the Lord you God are always upon you, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.” Do not pick out one day in the year, and say it was a bad day, but take all the year round. Take the year altogether—the ups and the downs, the troubles and the joys, the hills and the valleys altogether. This leads to conclude like the scriptures saying, “Surely goodness and mercy have followed me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.”

What Have You Done?

"And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." Colossians 1:10

While the self-righteous makes the fatal mistake of thinking that good deeds lead to salvation, the saved can make the sad mistake of forgetting that salvation is supposed to lead to good deeds (Ephesians 2:8-10). Have you any reason to believe that ever since you were converted you have ever been the means of the salvation of a soul? Are there not many Christians now present who cannot recollect that they have been the means of the salvation of one soul during this year?
I hear the reply, "I have done nothing to save myself; for that was done for me in the eternal covenant, from before the foundation of the world. I have done nothing to make a righteousness for myself, for Christ said, "It is finished." But what have you done for him who died to save your wretched soul? What have you done for the salvation of the world? For those that are true Christians, I will leave you with your God.

God Will Lead The Way

“The Lord will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.” Isaiah 52:12

We shall soon launch into another year. Fear of the future and fear of the unknown still have to be faced by the believer. Perhaps we are trembling to go forward. Foreseeing trouble, we know not how we shall be able to endure. But the Christian has the remedy to such fear—a great God who knows the future and who leads the way (Acts 20:22-24; Hebrews 11:8-10). “The Lord Jehovah will go before you.” He has gone before you already. "The gracious hand of our God is on everyone who looks to Him, but his anger is against all those who forsake Him (Ezra 8:22).
